Climate Change 2013

Part of the freedom of living under the New Covenant of grace, provided by Jesus Christ, is that we are no longer conformed to this world. We can choose the spiritual climate that we want to dwell in.

We can choose to step into God’s plan for us.
We can choose to submit our will to Him, so He may lead us into whatever season is needed in order for us to experience greater freedom and breakthrough.

Apparently 2013 is the year of the ‘snake’ according to the Chinese zodiac.
If you follow the New Age movement or other religions they too have symbols and themes for each New Year.

It is true that God will often place upon the hearts of his people a collective theme for a season or year. This can be a powerful tool for developing and growing unity among believers.
But He is also deeply interested in personal relationship.
He meets you where you’re at in your current season and circumstance. He extends His hand while inviting you to take it, and to be led by Him.
Ask Him. “God, what is your perfect will for my life at this time?”.

How much more exciting a personal journey for 2013 than the ‘themes’ and ‘fads’ the world has on offer!

Declare & Claim

Declare & Claim

This is the word God has placed on my heart for this New Year’s period:

God has been speaking to me about freedom.
True freedom.
His freedom.
It’s a theme He will not let me ignore.

The Israelites begged to go back to Egypt because they could not see the big picture: The promise of freedom.
Even when God was walking with them, His very presence leading them by day and by night, miraculously hand-feeding them from His heavenly storehouse, they couldn’t handle the ‘stretching’ the ‘pulling’, the ‘refining’.

Refinement hurts.
A refiner’s fire burns away impurity, but the end result is flawless, a product free from tainted elements.

Sanding leaves timber unprotected, but it also brings out the natural grain and shows the beautiful, unique designs and variations hidden under the rough surface. Only after the sanding, would you bother to lacquer it in order to ‘show off’ its unique beauty and shield it from becoming tarnished.

I urge you not to quit chasing your freedom. It is your right as a co-heir with Christ!
It’s not going to be easy, in fact, difficulty is promised.

I know that at this stage ‘Egypt’ and it’s bondage looks less threatening because you’re intimately familiar with its trials. But it’s not worth settling for familiarity over freedom!

You’re destined for greater things.
If you chose not to press on, that’s ok. God won’t take the offer of freedom away. But you will have to walk through this journey of refinement, or of one similar in order to reach freedom, so why quit what you’ve started?

Let 2013 be the year that you DECLARE and CLAIM God’s freedom over your life.
If you are blessed to be in a place of comfort and on a ‘mountain high’, why not make 2013 the year you reach out and journey with another, to help them reach their freedom destination!

The Pushy Ones

The Pushy Ones

I dreamed that we were at Church and during praise and worship an elderly couple were walking up and down all the rows behind each person.

They came across as harmless and innocent, but were a little pushy and quite distracting.
In my spirit I knew something was not right with the couple, so I started watching them closely to see what they were doing.

The man had a cup in his hand and was asking for donations. As people were giving him money, his wife was rifling through open bags and taking whatever was visible.

I believe this is symbolic.
I believe God is saying that some of us are allowing satan to rob us of what is our RIGHTFUL inheritance in Christ. Beyond that, some of us are willingly donating to his cause without recognising the enormity and impact of what we are giving away!

It is enough.
It’s time to WAKE up.
Its time to take a stand and RECLAIM what the enemy has stolen!
