Please tell me it was just a Dream

I have spent the afternoon obsessing over a difficult situation. One made so much worse by a momentary but colossal lapse of judgement on my part.

For hours I have hoped that I would wake up to discover it had all been a dream!
I see now why the invention of a time machine holds such great appeal.

Alas, I am not dreaming.
There is no time machine and there are consequences that lie ahead.

I find it interesting that as Christians, some of us look at the account of Adam and Eve, and we judge them. Eve was foolish and manipulative, Adam was spineless and allowed himself to be led astray by his woman. And both were unable to take accountability for their actions.

Lacklustre Love

Many times, especially among people who move in prophetic and healing circles, I hear talk about; reaching ‘new levels’ and seeing ‘greater realms’.

These discussions make it seem as though a video game is being played and a new achievement has been reached, unlocking a special feature.

I’m not for a second saying that the hearts of these people aren’t genuine and that their experiences aren’t real, they are, and I share many of them.
In fact God’s word encourages us to “desire that you may prophesy”, it is good, it is noble…. But, we are also warned, in the same book:

It Is Good

God stood before Adam and Eve, the flesh He had just created in His image….
He stood, perusing His divine workmanship, knowing full well that the two people standing before Him, the people that He had CREATED!…would soon defy Him.

He stood knowing that generations of people that would come from this man and woman would deny His existence.

He stood knowing that in order to restore righteousness, a right standing relationship with Him, HE would have to pay the ultimate price, make the ultimate sacrifice and offer the blood and broken body of His son as payment, a hope of reconciliation.
