Think of someone you love deeply.
Now think of a few words to describe their character, who you know them to be. But, there’s a catch…..You can only use bible verses or words that other’s have spoken about them.
Can’t describe your loved one adequately?
Jesus asked His disciples;
“Who do men say that I am?” So they answered, “John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.” (Mark 8:27-29 NKJV)
Peter called it.
Out of relationship came divine revelation and Peter recognised who Jesus was, not out of what he’d read or what others were saying about him.
The God we know must line up with the consistency of character shown in the bible, but it must also come from who we know God to be, through our relationship with Him.
It’s time to stop relying on second hand revelation and instead, receive your own, through authentic and deep relationship.
