Line of Credit

This is the communion talk I shared in church today. I share it hear in the hope that it resonates with you.

John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

God gave this verse to me a few weeks ago during a church service.
It’s a verse that He has continued to remind me of since.

Having just come out of the Christmas season I was reminded of something that really bothers me…..
Have you ever bought a gift voucher for someone and they haven’t used it before it expired?
Or you’ve cleaned out your wallet and found a voucher that you’d totally forgotten about?
I get frustrated, I think; “don’t you know what you could’ve bought with that?
Don’t you realise that cost something? I PAID for that and you’ve wasted it!”.

Jesus paid for us to have abundant life, yet so often we waste it.

Yes, we’re saved, and we will spend eternity revelling in His glory…. But we don’t have to wait till Heaven.
We don’t need to let our ‘vouchers’ expire on earth.

We can live abundantly now.
We’re expected to.
He wants us to!

He wants to see us enjoy our gift, to use it for its purposes. He wants to bless us. We are co-heirs with CHRIST! CO-HEIRS!
Lets start claiming what is ours.

How would we feel if we got to heaven and realised we had a ‘spiritual wallet’, full of gift vouchers that we’d never used?
