I have spent the afternoon obsessing over a difficult situation. One made so much worse by a momentary but colossal lapse of judgement on my part.
For hours I have hoped that I would wake up to discover it had all been a dream!
I see now why the invention of a time machine holds such great appeal.
Alas, I am not dreaming.
There is no time machine and there are consequences that lie ahead.
What I do have however, is God’s forgiveness, His unconditional love, His abundant grace and His offer to not just share the load, but actually TAKE it!
Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. (1 Peter 5:7 AMP)
God doesn’t ask us to be perfect. All He asks is that we acknowledge our failure and accept His help from this point forward.
So in a state of deep humility, I choose to cast my cares upon Him, to turn my ear toward Him as I learn what I need to from this painful situation.
