On ya Bike

This morning on the school run, I saw a motorcyclist who had been pulled over by police and was being booked.

I have no idea what he was ticketed for…..but a mere 4kms down the road, I was stopped at the traffic lights and saw the same rider speeding past, zipping in and out of traffic and weaving between stopped cars.

I sat in my car thinking, “Seriously? Dude, you’ve just been booked and within minutes you’re riding like a maniac!’.

Then came the still small voice…

“Isn’t it incredible how you can be warned about something, reprimanded, disciplined and released, only to turn around and repeat the behaviour you’ve just been warned about?”.

I knew that God was reminding me of an incident that had happened this past weekend. God told me to keep my mouth shut about a particular situation.
I didn’t.

I am regretful!

How blessed are we to have an Abba Father who is not content to leave us as we are.
How could He be?
He has created us for greatness, to display His righteousness.
He loves us far too much to leave us settling for mediocrity.
However, the choice is ours. Tune your ear to recognise His voice and embrace His gentle correction.

And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: “My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.” (Hebrews 12:5, 6 NKJV)
